Artist statement
My artistic practice explores the relationship between colour, emotion, freedom and transformation. Through vibrant abstract paintings and expressive butterfly-inspired works, I use colour, movement and form to evoke feelings beyond the visible, creating original pieces that invite personal interpretation and emotional connection.
As a contemporary artist from Slovakia, I see art as more than a visual experience. My paintings celebrate individuality, the beauty of change and the freedom of self-expression. Each work is created as a unique piece, intended to bring character, energy and meaning into the spaces and lives of those who connect with it.

Georgina Mortreux is an established contemporary artist based in Slovakia, Europe. Her abstract and
butterfly paintings in their lyrical and poetical form are focusing on the inner world of the current
human being, his personal experiences and his transformation as essential part of our lives.
She creates with combined acrylic techniques and her handwriting reflects the dynamics of the inner
world with the purposes of self-evolution and transformation.
The basic phenomenon of her work is the color. Intensive, passionate in its endless tones reflecting
the emotional processes and depth of the soul.
She combines acrylic colors with oil pastels and ink to make an impression reminding the rhythm of
the heart on the seismography of our lives.
